I'm an East London-based baker, specialising in wedding and celebration cakes.
A passion for food, interiors and design influences my life. It shouldn't have been a surprise when a baking favour for a friend turned into a career: creating a showstopping cake is the perfect combination of all of my favourite things.
When it comes to weddings, I like to work closely with a couple from the outset, drawing on the design, colour and feel of the wedding to create a totally bespoke wedding cake.
No detail is overlooked, from the initial sketches and tastings to adding the final touches on the big day. My trademark style features a dramatic display of seasonal blooms. I often add a little extra detail, from hand-painted flowers to flamboyant, handcrafted cake toppers. The same goes for birthday and christening cakes.
For me the flavour is as important as the style and it's essential my cakes taste as good as they look. I'll adapt the flavour to suit each occasion, with different levels in complexity, from layers of rich butter cream marbled with fruit curds to spiced sponges, to rich chocolate cake. The flavour combinations are endless.
The best part of my job is the grand reveal on the big day. To provide a beautiful centrepiece for someone's happy occasion is the icing on the cake.
